September is here, and thus the start of the 2005-06 pinewood derby season. The various vendors have added some new products, and there are some new vendors as well. This should serve to spice up product offerings!

Maximum Velocity is offering a car evaluation service, some new car kits, some new wheels, and some additional items.

Pinewood Extreme is a new vendor that has duplicated much of the Maximum Velocity offering, but with a few unique items.

Derby Champ is gearing back up, but we'll need to wait a few days to see what they will offer.

So far, none of the other vendors have revealed anything new.

The WIRL continues to garner a lot of interest. There will be a live race in Lima, Ohio on September 17 that is expected to draw a good crowd. Several entries will run the new Outlaw wheels from Maximum Velocity, the results of which I will certainly be interested in seeing.

The catastrophe in the south has put a damper on much of the country, and of course is devastating to those involved. Our thought and prayers go out to those who are experiencing this calamity.
